“Clouds” is the 5th and last release from Phase 1 (April 2021 to April 2022). As such it is a continuation of the story from the last release “voices”, which in short was about triggers and input. These triggers and inputs are somehow a natural part of the creation process and way of working, when I am making music. It is a kind of “amorphous” process without any fixed “shape” or “form”, a process which is more a flow than something “structured”. Of course, I am doing this based on a plan and with a set of goals in mind. However, the actual moment, when I am working on music, is a process that constantly changes and evolves, a bit like when watching clouds in the sky. Clouds take on many shapes, and those shapes changes when they roll across the sky. When I am working with music, there are also moments with many shapes (e.g. ideas) that change over time (during the process) and end with a “snapshot” of the moment when the track is ready, like a snapshot of a cloud.

The track itself starts with a dark undertone, but also with some lighter tones on top (which could be hope, but is maybe more reflection). It then goes into a more “practical” atmosphere, maybe manual labour and then ends with a sort of sensation of “something” being finished or ….. closure.

While working on this track, I had my mind set towards “amorphous” or “formations” as a track name. However, in the final phase of completing the track and preparing for the release, the word and sensation of “clouds” constantly came to my mind. In the end I chose “clouds” - It just feels right and reflects my music and way of working a lot. Clouds never float in the same way or pattern and they change endlessly from one second to another, like my mind.
